Acne is a skin condition that causes pimples. It remains one of the main concerns for many people.
In contrary to what most of us think, adults can also suffer from acne in their thirties and beyond. For some, the acne breakout that started in adolescence continues. This is called persistent acne, and it affects women more than men.
Hyper seborrhea (excessive sebum production) clogs the pores and causes an inflammatory reaction that can cause skin damage. The sebum can no longer flow properly, blackheads and pimples appear on the surface of the skin. In adults, these are less inflamed pimples than blackheads and an irregular skin texture.
Acne can be caused by many triggers such as stress, hormonal imbalance or pregnancy.
While finding a treatment can sometimes be challenging, avoiding some bad routines can definitely help reducing acne.
